These are trying times. With states around the country announcing shelter-in-place orders, many of us have had to close our doors. Even businesses that remain open are experiencing limited customers and tightening budgets. We at Community Phone have been racking our brains about how we can help other small businesses weather the storm, and we’ve come up with an act of kindness that can hopefully help our fellow business-owners.
With stores closing, small businesses likely have in-store landline phones remaining unanswered. We are now giving small businesses affected by COVID-19 free landline forwarding, so their in-store landlines can ring on their cell phones. Plus, small businesses can have talk&text plans for free. That way, businesses can both save money by not having to pay for their landline bill and also be able to answer all necessary business calls. These donations from us to you remain on the table throughout the COVID-19 crisis. When your business is no longer affected by the crisis, you can choose to return to your normal landline provider or remain with Community Phone on a month-to-month basis for only $10/month.

How does Landline Forwarding work?
We take your landline number and forward it to your cell phone number. This means that any calls made to your business or organization can be taken by someone working remotely. The transfer process takes 72 hours to complete, and once it is done, you will be able to accept calls on your cell that would have normally gone to your office.
Will my landline have its own voicemail?
No, it will forward to your existing cell phone so that if you don’t answer, the caller will get your cell phone’s voicemail.
Will I still be able to receive calls to my cell phone number?
Will I be able to make calls outbound on my landline number?
No. You will only be able to receive them unless you port your landline number onto a phone that currently does not have service. We are happy to do this for you if you’d like.
I don’t have a cell phone number. What does this mean for me?
We can forward your landline number to any other number you may have. Or if you want to put that landline number onto a cell phone that currently does not have cell phone service, this is something we can provide for free as well.
