Community Phone CEO Speaks at Swift Conference with the Voice of Siri

Boston, MA, June 16, 2018 – Community Phone Phone Company today announced that on Monday, June 18th, 2018 CEO & founder James Graham will be speaking at this year’s annual Swift conference. Graham’s talk will be following Susan Bennett– better known as the voice of Apple’s virtual assistant, Siri.

James Graham, the CEO and co-founder of Community Phone Company, will be speaking on the topic of NSURLProtocol, also known as “Apple-sanctioned man-in-the-middle attacks.” The NSURLProtocol class is a powerful tool in the Apple programming language Swift. Graham will be presenting on day 1 of the Swift 2018 Conference at 11 a.m. ET in downtown Boston. Graham’s presentation will follow keynote speaker Susan Bennett. While many may not recognize her name, Susan’s voice has become famous around the world for giving helpful and witty responses to people’s questions following “hey, Siri.” Graham will also be discussing the inefficiencies currently imbedded throughout our everyday communication systems and what can be done to fix them.

Graham began his career as an iOS developer building mobile applications for Apple devices. During these initial years of app development Graham recognized fundamental inefficiencies in the way that applications created connections. In response to these inefficiencies, Graham founded Caffeine – a chunk of computer code that is meant to allow phone applications to run faster and more securely. He received a Thiel Fellowship from Peter Thiel last year for his work on Caffeine, but he was still not satisfied with the inefficiencies infecting daily communications. Recently, Graham has become interested in empowering and better tooling the “small guys” that all large phone and app companies have so far ignored: senior citizens, immigrants, and people who Just Don’t Know by starting the Community Phone Company.

Community Phone is the only wireless phone provider based in Cambridge, MA and is known as the community phone company. Community Phone doesn’t sell customer data to advertisers like AT&T, Verizon, or T-mobile, but instead puts on events/sessions at low-income community centers that promotes digital literacy (how to use a mouse, keyboard, email, google maps, etc). Most cell phone carriers are based on a retail model that necessitates up-selling to consumers. Whereas Community Phone is based on a service model in which customers are never sold unnecessary unlimited plans or expensive gadgets. Graham also ensures that Community Phone is staffed with quality local representatives and technology experts that can provide premium support to the ignored and overlooked sectors of our community.
